[Oslo, 20 January 2025] – ENERGYNEST, the global leader in thermal energy storage solutions, today announces the appointment of Alex Robertson as its new Chief Executive Officer to lead the company’s next phase of growth, effective 1 February 2025.

 

He most recently led the operations for global wind turbine manufacturer Vestas in Taiwan, having previously held several other management positions within the company. Alex brings extensive experience of the energy sector and a proven track record of leading teams to innovate and grow their business. He holds a master’s degree in Mathematics from The University of Edinburgh.

 

Alex will succeed Dr. Christian Thiel, who has led the company for the past decade. Under Christian’s leadership, ENERGYNEST achieved several significant milestones including the piloting of its technology at MASDAR, delivering successful projects to Avery Dennison, Eni, and Yara, securing Infracapital‘s €110m investment, and the company‘s first sale of a turnkey power-to-heat system.

 

With this leadership transition, ENERGYNEST remains steadfast in its mission to lead the industrial decarbonization movement and advance the energy transition through cutting-edge thermal energy storage and holistic renewable heat production for industry. Heat and steam production account for nearly 50% of global CO2 emissions in industrial processes, making it a critical area for sustainable innovation.
