At ENERGYNEST, our purpose is to make pioneering green solutions accessible to industry, giving clients the power to evolve towards profitable sustainability.

Energynest executives in front of Thermal Battery

Our story

Founded in 2011 by Professor Pål Bergan and Øivind Resch, ENERGYNEST has since developed the innovative, future-facing ThermalBattery™ technology to convert waste heat into renewable energy. Having successfully completed a prominent and externally-validated pilot project in Masdar City (Abu Dhabi) in cooperation with the Masdar Institute of Science & Technology, we have proven our technology and the edge it can bring. Partnerships with top tier suppliers, development partners, internationally renowned engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, as well as R&D institutes, are all vital contributors to our position as an energy storage leader in power generation and across energy-intensive industries. Today, ENERGYNEST is successfully launching several large-scale industrial integrations of Nests powered by ThermalBattery™, and is poised to push the energy transition of industry.

Wasted energy is costing industry and the earth

”If you ask a random person on the street today what we need to do to transition to renewable energy, achieve net-zero and become carbonneutral, they might suggest eating less meat or flying less. While these actions matter at an individual level, the simple truth is that net-zero will remain a dream if we do not address industrial heat. Even after 8 years in the company, whatever I do from Monday to Friday doesn’t really feel like work. It’s like a mission. Something to fight for every day.”
